We need Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Each year, this nation sets aside February as Black History month.  Since its formation in 2008, this site has tried to honor the contribution of Black Americans and their ancestors in helping create the nation we now live in.

Black History is basically about showing what Black Americans have been through and what they’re capable of doing; and, it also is about honoring those, Black and White, who sacrificed so much so that Americans of all ethnicities could continue the fight against racism.

Teaching Black history is about showing this nation that Black Americans, after all they’ve been through and are still going through, that they are all truly Americans.  This standard should be true for all Americans and may it be so one day soon.

Complex human beings

“One day our descendants will think it incredible that we paid so much attention to things like the amount of melanin in our skin or the shape of our eyes or our gender instead of the unique identities of each of us as complex human beings.” —Franklin Thomas, philanthropist and civil rights activist.

It's Not Pie
